| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Mitchell P. Shadid of |
4 |
| Peoria on August 5, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Shadid was born November 27, 1924, in Clinton, |
6 |
| Iowa, to Phillip and Edna Massad Shadid; he married Delores |
7 |
| Griffiths on June 26, 1955, in Peoria; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, |
9 |
| having served as a radio operator, and was a member of Dunlap |
10 |
| American Legion; he owned and operated Club Caravan Night Club |
11 |
| with two of his brothers in downtown Peoria for many years; he |
12 |
| then worked for the Peoria Housing Authority until retiring in |
13 |
| 1989; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of All Saints Greek Orthodox |
15 |
| Church in Peoria; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his wife and a sister; |
17 |
| and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Mitchell Shadid is felt by all who |
19 |
| knew and loved him, especially his daughter, Michelle (David) |
20 |
| Krumholz; his sons, Phillip (Debbie), Mark, and Tom; his |
21 |
| brothers, Bill (Nancy), George (Lorraine), and Fred (Jean); his |
22 |
| sisters, Gladys Abraham, Pauline (John) Unes, Joan (Dick) |
23 |
| Pettit, and Jeanette (John) Harris; and his five grandchildren; |

| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
27 |
| Mitchell Shadid and extend our sincerest condolences to his |
28 |
| family, friends, and community; and be it further
