| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Gene R. "Doc" Haynes on |
4 |
| July 12, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Haynes was born February 3, 1935, in Lowndes, |
6 |
| Missouri, the son of Ulus and Maude Shetley Haynes; he married |
7 |
| Bonnie J. Martin on July 21, 1956, in Corinth, Mississippi; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, He attended Oasis of Grace Church in Anna; he was |
9 |
| a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean |
10 |
| conflict, and was a self-employed logger for most of his life; |
11 |
| and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, his |
13 |
| son-in-law, Jimmy Boyd, and two brothers and three sisters; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Gene Haynes is felt by all who knew |
15 |
| and loved him, especially his wife, Bonnie Haynes; his |
16 |
| children, Jeannie and husband K.W. Carter, Steve Haynes and |
17 |
| companion Jody Boner, Cathy Boyd, David and wife Ana Haynes, |
18 |
| John Haynes, and Angie and husband Fred Robinson; his eight |
19 |
| grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; his brothers, |
20 |
| Keith and wife Berniece Haynes and Jerry Haynes; his sisters, |
21 |
| Wanda and husband Ed Durham, Joyce and husband Linvell Fox, and |
22 |
| Bettye and husband Dave Demelle; and his nieces, nephews, and |
23 |
| other relatives, and many, many friends; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
26 |
| Gene R. "Doc" Haynes and extend our sincerest condolences to |
27 |
| his family; and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |

| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
