| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of James L. Chamness of |
4 |
| Cobden on July 12, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Chamness was born March 9, 1929, in Cobden, |
6 |
| the son of Raymond and Elva Haley Chamness; he married Janie L. |
7 |
| Nance on June 9, 1951, in Piggott, Arkansas; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of the First Baptist Church in |
9 |
| Cobden; he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict; he |
10 |
| was a self-employed plumber by trade for most of his life; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, |
12 |
| and two brothers, Kenneth and Paul Glenn Chamness; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of James Chamness is felt by all who |
14 |
| knew and loved him, especially his children, Mike and wife |
15 |
| Virginia Chamness, Scott and wife Vicki Chamness, David and |
16 |
| wife Tammy Chamness, Terrie and husband Willie Rhymer, and |
17 |
| Debbie and husband James Walker; his nine grandchildren and one |
18 |
| great-grandchild; his sisters, Helen Summers, Delores and |
19 |
| husband Bill Witthoft, and Bertha Seske; and his nieces, |
20 |
| nephews, other relatives, and many friends; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
23 |
| James Chamness and extend our sincerest condolences to his |
24 |
| family; and be it further
|
25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
26 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
27 |
| sympathy.
