SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Lila Mae Campbell of
4 Marion on Tuesday, July 5, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born in Marion on April 2, 1923, to A.R.
6 "Pat" and Bessie Myrtle (Geer) Douglas; she attended school in
7 Marion and was a graduate of Marion High School; after
8 graduation she attended Brown's Business College located in
9 Evansville, Indiana; and
 
10     WHEREAS, She moved to California in the early 1960s and was
11 a resident of West Lake Village for over 30 years; her working
12 career was as a secretary in the insurance profession for many
13 years until her retirement; following her retirement, she
14 returned to her hometown of Marion in 1995; while living in
15 Marion, she attended both First Baptist Church and Church of
16 God when she was able; she was very involved with the
17 Williamson County Republican Women's Organization, helping
18 them on many of their functions; she loved to go to the Court
19 Street McDonalds, sometimes twice a day, enjoying a cup of
20 coffee or light snack and visiting with the many friends that
21 she knew; and
 
22     WHEREAS, The passing of Lila Mae Campbell has been deeply
23 felt by many, especially her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and
24 Kathy Campbell; her daughter, Leslie Campbell Harris; her
25 grandchildren, Jaime Harris and Kyle, Blake, and Kara Campbell;
26 her sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Robert "Dog" Connell;
27 her brother and sister-in-law, Allen and Sharon Douglas; her
28 many nieces, nephews, other extended family, and many friends;
29 she was preceded in death by her parents; therefore, be it
 
30     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
31 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

1 Lila Mae Campbell, and we extend our sincere condolences to her
2 family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
3 further
 
4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to her family as an expression of our deepest
6 sympathy.
