| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Norma L. Magnuson of West |
4 |
| Frankfort on Monday, July 4, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born on July 22, 1935, in West Frankfort |
6 |
| to Thomas Walker and Flossie (Williams) Walker; she married |
7 |
| Virgil Magnuson, and he preceded her in death on November 3, |
8 |
| 1998; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Magnuson was a member of Calvary Baptist |
10 |
| Church in West Frankfort; she received her master's degree in |
11 |
| English and her master's degree in library science; she was a |
12 |
| former high school teacher in Illinois and was retired from the |
13 |
| office of Faculty and Alumni at West Chester University in West |
14 |
| Chester, Pennsylvania; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Norma L. Magnuson has been deeply |
16 |
| felt by many, especially her brother, Oren Walker and wife, |
17 |
| Kay; her sisters, Esther Eggley and husband, Tom, and Frances |
18 |
| Pettit; her aunts, Elsie Lawrence, Mary Edna Lawrence, Freida |
19 |
| Williams, and Pearl Williams; and her many nieces, nephews, |
20 |
| great-nieces, and great-nephews; she was preceded in death by |
21 |
| her parents and her husband, Virgil; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
23 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
24 |
| Norma L. Magnuson, and we extend our sincere condolences to her |
25 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
26 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
28 |
| presented to her family as an expression of our deepest |
29 |
| sympathy.
