| SENATE RESOLUTION
|
2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Mary Belle Bowers of |
4 |
| Chicago on July 28, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Bowers was born August 23, 1915, in Bolivar, |
6 |
| Tennessee, to Slater and Isabella Willis; she was the oldest of |
7 |
| six children; she married Frank Bowers in 1934, and they were |
8 |
| the parents of six children; Mrs. Bowers and her husband moved |
9 |
| to Chicago in 1941; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, She was a good cook and enjoyed cooking for family |
11 |
| and friends; she loved people and lived life to the fullest; |
12 |
| and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents, two |
14 |
| brothers, a sister, and her four sons; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Mary Belle Bowers is felt by all |
16 |
| who knew and loved her, especially her daughters, Rosemary |
17 |
| Bowers and Jane R. Gary; her five grandchildren, ten |
18 |
| great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; her |
19 |
| sisters, Lola Townsend and Verlacy Jordan; her |
20 |
| daughter-in-law, Adrienne Bowers; and a host of other relatives |
21 |
| and friends; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
23 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
24 |
| Mary Belle Bowers and extend our sincerest condolences to her |
25 |
| family and friends; and be it further
|
26 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
27 |
| presented to her family as an expression of our deepest |
28 |
| sympathy.
