SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Charles Thomas "Tom"
4 Futrell of Marion on July 13, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Futrell was born March 12, 1931, in Williamson
6 County, to Floyd Ellston and Bertha (Jackson) Futrell; he
7 married Wilma Imogene Fite on July 1, 1950; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He retired in 1992 from CIPS after 42 years of
9 service; he loved fishing and was an avid golfer, having
10 received many golf trophies and having made five holes-in-one;
11 he was a member of New Life Covenant Church in Carbondale; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, his
13 daughter, Sherry Ann Futrell, and his brother, Floyd Eugene
14 Futrell; and
 
15     WHEREAS, The passing of Charles Futrell is felt by all who
16 knew and loved him, especially his wife of 55 years, Imogene;
17 his children and their spouses, Tommy and Diane Futrell,
18 Marlene and John Carson, Alice and Dennis Stearns, and Becky
19 and Everett Rodgers; his grandchildren, Chris Futrell, Cassie
20 and husband Ben Puckett, Bethany Futrell, Johnny and wife
21 Jennifer Carson, Jeni and husband Drew Peck, Joshua and wife
22 Rachel Carson, Eric Spurgeon, Jacki Stearns, Scott and wife
23 Jennifer Rodgers, and Matt Rodgers; his 10
24 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Billy Futrell and Jimmy and
25 wife Linda Futrell; his sisters, Maxine Collins, Bonnie Mae and
26 husband Loren Thomas, and Lucille and husband John Oberheau;
27 his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harold and wife Mary
28 Fite, Bill and wife Marie Fite, and Ina Fite; and his many
29 nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
30     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL

1 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
2 Charles Futrell and extend our sincerest condolences to his
3 family; and be it further
 
4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
6 sympathy.
