| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |

| learned with sadness of the death of Raymond E. Bruce of Lake |
4 |
| of Egypt on Tuesday, July 5, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born November 13, 1946, in Marion to Paul |
6 |
| Bruce and Wilma (Wiseman) Bruce Sanders; he married Linda |
7 |
| (Stephens) on July 3, 1975, in Marion; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Bruce last worked as a materials specialist at |
9 |
| General Dynamics; he valiantly served his country as a member |
10 |
| of the U.S. Marine Corps for two years in Vietnam; he was a |
11 |
| member of the Marion VFW, Elks, and Knights of Pythias; he was |
12 |
| a Methodist; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Raymond E. Bruce has been deeply |
14 |
| felt by many, especially his wife, Linda; his mother, Wilma |
15 |
| Sanders; his son, Jason Bruce; his daughter, Misti Carroll and |
16 |
| husband, Jim; his grandchildren, Mason Bruce, Zachary Garland, |
17 |
| Tyler Carroll, Jamie Carroll, and Stephanie Carroll; his |
18 |
| brother, Jerry Bruce; his sister, Shirley Canaday and husband, |
19 |
| Steve; his niece, Paula Canaday; his nephew, Jerry Canaday and |
20 |
| wife, Danielle; and his many cousins and friends; he was |
21 |
| preceded in death by his father, and an infant sister, Linda |
22 |
| Lou Bruce; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
24 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
25 |
| Raymond E. Bruce, and we extend our sincere condolences to his |
26 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
27 |
| further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
29 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
30 |
| sympathy.
