| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |

| learned with sadness of the death of Elia (Bianchini) Battaglia |
4 |
| of Royalton on Friday, June 10, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born on February 9, 1917 in Bush to Angelo |
6 |
| and Dina (Consani) Bianchini; she married Voglia Battaglia on |
7 |
| August 9, 1934 in Benton; he preceded her in death on October |
8 |
| 10, 1997; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Battaglia was a member of the St. Aloysius |
10 |
| Catholic Church and Sodality in Royalton; she was a homemaker, |
11 |
| and worked for 32 years at the Good-Luck Glove factory in |
12 |
| Carbondale and Smoller Brothers in Herrin; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Elia Battaglia has been deeply felt |
14 |
| by many, especially her daughter, Norma Jo Williams; her |
15 |
| granddaughters, Donna Jo Smith and her husband, Gary, and |
16 |
| Valerie Menckowski and her husband, Michael; her |
17 |
| great-grandchildren, Dina Jo and Gary Don Smith, and Ben and |
18 |
| Krissy Menckowski; and her sister, Palma Ronchetto; she was |
19 |
| also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ann Bertock; |
20 |
| her brother, Enzo Bianchini; her son-in-law, Don Williams; and |
21 |
| her special step-father, Ben Chabloz, who raised her from the |
22 |
| age of five; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
24 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
25 |
| Elia Battaglia, and we extend our sincerest condolences to her |
26 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
27 |
| further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
29 |
| presented to her family as an expression of our deepest |
30 |
| sympathy.
