| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |

| learned with sadness of the death of James "Jim" Hardway of |
4 |
| Anna on May 20, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Hardway was born November 28, 1928, in |
6 |
| Oakland, the son of Cecil and Bonnie Mullis Hardway; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, He married Leota L. "Jeri" Landis on October 21, |
8 |
| 1972, in Carpentersville; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, He joined the ministry in 1978 and pastored at |
10 |
| several churches throughout his life, including the |
11 |
| Adams-Friendship Baptist Church in Friendship, Wisconsin, |
12 |
| Townline Baptist Church in Beloit, Wisconsin, Mount Olive |
13 |
| Baptist Church in Dongola, Lantana Baptist Church in |
14 |
| Carbondale, and Big Creek Baptist Church in Dongola; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, |
16 |
| Dallas Cooper and Jerry Cooper; and his sister, Patty Siverly, |
17 |
| and brother, Max Hardway; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of James "Jim" Hardway is felt by all |
19 |
| who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Leota "Jeri" |
20 |
| Hardway; his children, Carlena and husband Loyd Thompson, |
21 |
| Charles Cooper, Harold and wife Sharon Wright, Sue Argraves, |
22 |
| Terry and wife Mickey Wright, Patti Neilson, Bruce and wife |
23 |
| Susan Wright, Phillip Wright, and Jim Jr. and wife Beverly |
24 |
| Hardway; his 33 grandchildren; his 49 great-grandchildren; his |
25 |
| brother, Don and wife Mary Hardway; his uncle, John; his aunt, |
26 |
| Martha; his nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and a host of |
27 |
| loving family and friends; therefore, be it
