SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with deep sadness of the untimely death of Eric "Eek" James Hensgen of Carterville on Thursday, May 5, 2005; and

WHEREAS, Eric was born on February 17, 1983, in Carbondale, to James William and Cheryl Elaine (Park) Hensgen, and is a younger brother to Jason William Hensgen and Hayley Jayne Orendoff; he lived in Carterville all of his life; and

WHEREAS, He attended Carterville schools and was an outstanding wrestler for the Carterville Lions; he loved sports, all sports, and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Detroit Lions; he enjoyed boating and water sports during the summer on Crab Orchard Lake; and

WHEREAS, Eric was well-known for his sense of humor, out-going personality, big smile, and an even bigger heart; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Eric "Eek" James has been deeply felt by many, especially his mother and step-father, Cheryl Vinson and Donald Vinson; his father and step-mother, James Hensgen and Carla Hensgen; his brother, Jason Hensgen and Michelle Lyon; his sister and brother-in-law, Hayley Jayne and Jason Orendoff; and Tim and Patty Park, Melvin and Vicky Park, Wayne and Melanie Park, and Jeff and Nan Park, along with their families and all from Chillicothe, Ohio; Debbie and Darold Jones and family; Stephen Hensgen and family; Pat and Dale Wilson and family; Valerie and Eddie Long; Brett and Melissa Vinson; Casey Vinson and daughter Makayla; Carl and Linda Vinson; Deann and David Overturf and son David Anthony; Corey Richardson; Arlie and Lita Stout and family; Boyd and Nancy Stout and family; Carl and Lori Stout; Allean and Robert Meacham and family; his step grandparents, John and Fern Stout; his grandmother, Eunice Hensgen; his step-great-grandmother, Helen Stutsman; and his friends and neighbors, Anne and George Browning, Jessica Sadie and Alex Reed, and Donnie and April Burress; he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin and Mary Park, and his grandfather, Wilbur Hensgen; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Eric James Hensgen, who was taken from this world much too soon, and we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
