| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of John E. DeMand of Bethalto |
4 |
| on Sunday, May 15, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born June 16, 1944, in Ironton, Illinois, |
6 |
| to Jacob A. and Helen M. (Barnes) DeMand; he married the former |
7 |
| Mary E. Wegener on September 15, 1972, in Godfrey; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. DeMand valiantly served his country as a |
9 |
| member of the U.S. Navy and was a loan officer at Laclede |
10 |
| Community Credit Union for 20 years; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of John E. DeMand has been deeply felt |
12 |
| by many, especially his wife, Mary; his daughter and |
13 |
| son-in-law, Jessica and Dale Laird; his son and |
14 |
| daughter-in-law, Jason and Nancy DeMand; his granddaughters, |
15 |
| Megan DeMand and Caitlynn Laird; his sister and brother-in-law, |
16 |
| Margaret "Peggy" and Curtis Gilreath; and his brother, James |
17 |
| DeMand; he was preceded in death by his parents; therefore, be |
18 |
| it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
20 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
21 |
| John E. DeMand, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his |
22 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
23 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
25 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our sincere |
26 |
| condolences.
