| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of John DeMattei of West |
| 4 |
| Frankfort on May 1, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. DeMattei was born September 23, 1949, in |
| 6 |
| Christopher, to Mike and Mildred (Gallick) DeMattei; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He was a graduate of St. John's School in 1963 and |
| 8 |
| FCHS in 1967; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He married Martha (Christian) DeMattei April 9, |
| 10 |
| 1983, in West Frankfort; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, He worked for Old Ben Coal Company for 24 years |
| 12 |
| and also Zeigler Mine 11; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in |
| 14 |
| West Frankfort; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, Mike; his |
| 16 |
| father-in-law, Charles Christian; and his brother-in-law, |
| 17 |
| Michael Christian; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of John DeMattei is felt by all who |
| 19 |
| knew and loved him, especially his wife, Martha; his children, |
| 20 |
| Christi, Brandi, Joseph, and Gina; his mother, Mildred |
| 21 |
| DeMattei; his brother, Larry DeMattei; his mother-in-law, |
| 22 |
| Betty Christian; his brother-in-law, Deane Christian, and |
| 23 |
| wife, Damita; his sister-in-law, Mary Snider, and husband, |
| 24 |
| Ronnie; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
