SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Trooper Francis J. "Fritz"
4 Faber, Ret., of Kewanee on Wednesday, April 6, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born on December 15, 1927, in Saskatoon,
6 Saskatchewan, Canada, to Francis John Herman and Helen (Braun)
7 Faber; he married Margaret A. Reece on May 17, 1952, in
8 Kewanee; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Mr. Faber moved to the Galva and Kewanee area at
10 age nine and was educated there; he valiantly served his
11 country as a member of the United States Navy during World War
12 II and in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict;
13 and
 
14     WHEREAS, He worked at the Walworth Foundry and later became
15 a State Trooper First Class for the Illinois State Police,
16 District 7, serving 28 years; he was the first Patrol to have a
17 Patrol Canine, with his dog "Blitz"; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church,
19 American Legion, and the Fraternal Order of Police; he enjoyed
20 flower gardening and all kinds of music; he was a Cubs fan and
21 enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; and
 
22     WHEREAS, The passing of Francis J. "Fritz" Faber has been
23 deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Margaret; his sons
24 and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Jean Faber, Steven and Peggy
25 Faber, Matthew Faber, and Joseph Faber; his daughters and
26 sons-in-law, Laurie and Kenny Entas and Terri and Ed Wolfe; his
27 grandchildren and their spouses, Stacey and Casey Catlin, Jess
28 and Amber Entas, Scott and Charity Faber, Shane Faber, Seth
29 Faber, Sara Faber, Joy Hernandez, 1st Class Airman John Jacob
30 Hernandez, Chelsae Wolfe, and Karlie Wolfe; his

1 great-grandchildren, Cameron Faber and Ella Entas; and his
2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Hilda and Gene Krug and Ruth Lee;
3 he was preceded in death by his parents and one son, David, in
4 infancy; therefore, be it
 
5     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
6 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7 Francis J. "Fritz" Faber, and we extend our sincerest
8 condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
9 him; and be it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
12 sympathy.
