| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Wendell Leon Nix, Jr., of |
4 |
| Chicago on March 17, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Nix was born May 12, 1946, to Wendell L. Nix, |
6 |
| Sr., and Lily Green; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, He was married to Joyce Change and they were the |
8 |
| parents of three children, Sean, Seth, and Scott; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, He worked for over 20 years at Amoco Oil as a |
10 |
| computer operator; for over 10 years, he was an active member |
11 |
| of Martin Temple AME Zion Church, where he served as president |
12 |
| of the men's club; he was also an active volunteer in the Boy |
13 |
| Scouts, where his sons were also active; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Wendell L. Nix, Jr., is felt by all |
15 |
| who knew and loved him, especially his sons, Sean, Seth, and |
16 |
| Scott; his daughters-in-law, Danielle and Shoko; and his two |
17 |
| grandchildren, Christian and Jada; therefore, be it
|
18 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
19 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
20 |
| Wendell L. Nix, Jr., and extend our sincerest condolences to |
21 |
| his family and friends; and be it further
|
22 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
23 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
24 |
| sympathy.
