| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Daniel Washington Powell |
4 |
| of Waukegan on March 6, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Powell was born June 29, 1918, in Pine Bluff, |
6 |
| Arkansas; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, He married Rosalie Gross of Waukegan in 1941 and |
8 |
| they had three children; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, He retired from U.S. Steel/Cyclone Fence after 30 |
10 |
| years of service; he was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, |
11 |
| Rufus Mitchell Lodge #107, Shawall Temple #165, and Little Fort |
12 |
| Elks Lodge #1359; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Daniel Washington Powell is felt by |
15 |
| all who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Rosalie; his |
16 |
| sons, Daniel (Brenda), David, and Bruce; his sister-in-law, |
17 |
| Myrtle Ransom; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his |
18 |
| nephews and nieces; and a host of other relatives and friends; |
19 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
21 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
22 |
| Daniel Washington Powell and extend our sincerest condolences |
23 |
| to his family, friends, and community; and be it further
|
24 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
25 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
26 |
| sympathy.
