| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Charles L. Freeman of |
4 |
| Godfrey on February 4, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born August 4, 1923 in Godfrey to Lincoln |
6 |
| and Debbie (Fairfax) Freeman; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, He married the former Wilda S. Hyndman on July 22, |
8 |
| 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, He attended Alton public schools; he was employed |
10 |
| as an engineer mechanic for Max German Meat Company in St. |
11 |
| Louis; he served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946 as an |
12 |
| infantry staff sergeant and was awarded three Bronze Stars; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church; an |
14 |
| avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, trap shooting, fishing, |
15 |
| and golf; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and his |
17 |
| sisters, Helen Killion and Joyce Fuller; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Charles L. Freeman is felt by all |
19 |
| who knew and loved him, especially his wife of 58 years, Wilda; |
20 |
| his sons and their wives, James and Patricia Freeman and |
21 |
| Richard and Valerie Freeman; his daughter, Sandra Freeman and |
22 |
| her companion, Mary Bechtold; his grandchildren, Kelly and Erin |
23 |
| Freeman, Rich Huber, and Sheila Foster; his |
24 |
| great-granddaughter, Kalya Foster; his brothers-in-law, |
25 |
| Wallace Hyndman and Joseph Hyndman; and his sisters-in-law, |
26 |
| Marjorie Cannon, Marion Penman, Evelyn Johnson, Jennie |
27 |
| Franklin, and Nora Woods; therefore, be it
