| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| were grieved to learn of the death of Edward Pierre Paul |
4 |
| Czajkowski, formerly of North Chicago, on February 12, 2005; |
5 |
| and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, He was born on June 26, 1949; during the Vietnam |
7 |
| War, Mr. Czajkowski completed training in jet engine |
8 |
| mechanics-gas turbine unit maintenance, at Nellis Air Force |
9 |
| Base; he was among the last American soldiers to leave Vietnam, |
10 |
| where he served with the Special Forces; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, He continued to use his expertise at Commonwealth |
12 |
| Edison and the Wisconsin Electric Power Company as plant |
13 |
| operator, control operator, and supervisor; he ultimately had |
14 |
| over 30 years experience in power plant operations; an expert |
15 |
| on boiler/turbine maintenance, he was qualified on every facet |
16 |
| of coal handling; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Czajkowski spent his last few years living and |
18 |
| working in Ohio where he was responsible for construction and |
19 |
| maintenance of communication stations and computer data |
20 |
| shelters for the state of Ohio MARCS Program; a skilled |
21 |
| craftsman who could take on nearly any job indoors or out, he |
22 |
| taught employees and friends the skills necessary to maintain |
23 |
| anything from power plants to private homes and cars; and
|
24 |
| WHEREAS, His tastes ranged from classical music to the |
25 |
| western artist Remington; he enjoyed hunting and was an |
26 |
| accomplished cook; and
|
27 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Edward Pierre Paul Czajkowski has |
28 |
| been deeply felt by many, especially his father, Arthur J. |
29 |
| Czajkowski; his brother, Roy Czajkowski; his sister Martha |
30 |
| Mibeck; members of his mother's family residing in Ottawa, |
