| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of George P. Shadid Jr. of |
4 |
| Peoria on Monday, February 21, 2005; and |
5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born on September 20, 1958, in Peoria to |
6 |
| George P. and Lorraine K. Unes Shadid; he married Mary Michael |
7 |
| "Mikie" Vonachen on June 20, 1981, in Peoria; and |
8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Shadid was first vice president of |
9 |
| investments, senior investment management specialist at |
10 |
| Smith-Barney; he was a board member and past president of |
11 |
| Catholic Charities; and |
12 |
| WHEREAS, He was a 1980 graduate of Bradley University and a |
13 |
| member and past president of Bradley Chiefs Club and the |
14 |
| B-Club; he also was a member and past president of Mount Hawley |
15 |
| Country Club; and |
16 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Shadid was member of the Peoria Zoning |
17 |
| Commission and a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria |
18 |
| Heights; and |
19 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of George P. Shadid Jr. has been |
20 |
| deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Mary Michael "Mikie"; |
21 |
| his parents, Senator George P. Shadid and Lorraine K. Unes |
22 |
| Shadid; his daughter, Lauren Shadid; and his brother, James |
23 |
| (and Jane); therefore, be it |
24 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
25 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that together with his |
26 |
| family, friends, and all who knew and loved him, we mourn the |
27 |
| passing of George P. Shadid Jr.; and be it further
