| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Edwin G. Bennett of rural |
4 |
| Sheffield on February 9, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born July 13,
1917 in Mineral to Guy Robert |
6 |
| and Grace Irene (Studley) Bennett; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, He graduated from Sheffield High School in 1935 |
8 |
| and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; he worked for |
9 |
| Caterpillar until 1960 and also worked for Barcol Overdoor in |
10 |
| Sheffield for many years, as well as farmed in the Sheffield |
11 |
| area; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of the H.F. Hortz Post 415 |
13 |
| American Legion, Sheffield, and the E.A.A.; he was also a pilot |
14 |
| for 57 years; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, his |
16 |
| sisters, and his brother; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Edwin G. Bennett is felt by all who |
18 |
| knew and loved him, especially his wife, Winona, his sons, |
19 |
| Robert (Maureen) Bennett and William (Pam) Bennett; his |
20 |
| stepchildren; his grandchildren; his step-grandchildren; his |
21 |
| great-grandchildren; and his step-great-grandchildren; |
22 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
25 |
| Edwin G. Bennett and we extend our sincere condolences to his |
26 |
| family, friends, and community; and be it further
|
27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
28 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
