| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| were deeply grieved to learn of the death of Brian Avery of |
4 |
| Wilmette on Monday, December 28, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Brian lived his entire life in Wilmette, the third |
6 |
| of five children; he attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic |
7 |
| School from the time he was in kindergarten, where he excelled |
8 |
| in math and writing; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Brian was quite an athlete and experimented with |
10 |
| several sports, including soccer and hockey; by eighth grade, |
11 |
| he was focusing on basketball and was a point guard on one of |
12 |
| St. Francis Xavier's two squads; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, He had strawberry-blond hair, had the special |
14 |
| ability to make friends, and he was known to stick up for |
15 |
| others; he loved playing video games, especially Halo 2, and |
16 |
| was a fan of the University of Illinois basketball team; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Brian Avery has been deeply felt by |
18 |
| many, especially his parents, Janet and Brian Avery; his |
19 |
| sisters, Annie and Francie; his brothers, Tony and Petey; his |
20 |
| grandfather, Bill Avery, and step-grandmother, Heidi Avery; |
21 |
| his grandmother, Francie Creevy; his grandmother, Marge Avery, |
22 |
| and step-grandfather, Ray Andrews; and his fellow students and |
23 |
| friends; therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that even while we mourn the |
26 |
| passing of Brian Avery, who was taken from this world at much |
27 |
| too young an age, we celebrate and give thanks for the life |
28 |
| that he lived and the people that he touched, and we extend our |
29 |
| deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and all who knew and |
30 |
| loved him; and be it further
