| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Samuel Columbus "Kid" |
4 |
| Keaton on Wednesday, February 2, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Keaton was born on March 12, 1929, in Casscoe, |
6 |
| Arkansas, one of nine children born to Mack C. and Ora Mae |
7 |
| Keaton; he was fondly known as "Kid" from early childhood until |
8 |
| his death; he spent his youth in Arkansas and moved to Chicago |
9 |
| in 1952; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, He married Aurelia Hill in September of 1953; they |
11 |
| were the proud parents of two children, Shelvin and Barbara |
12 |
| Denise; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Samuel Columbus "Kid" Keaton has |
14 |
| been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Aurelia Keaton; |
15 |
| his daughter, Barbara Denise Keaton; his son, Shelvin (Mattie); |
16 |
| his grandchildren, Stephanie and Matthew; his brother, Leotis; |
17 |
| and his many nieces, nephews, and other relatives; he was |
18 |
| preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and three |
19 |
| sisters; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
21 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
22 |
| Samuel Columbus "Kid" Keaton, and we extend our deepest |
23 |
| sympathy to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
24 |
| him; and be it further
|
25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
26 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our sincerest |
27 |
| condolences during their time of bereavement.
