| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| were grievously saddened by the untimely death of Rita Ann |
4 |
| Harmony of Springfield on November 1, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, She was born March 23, 1949 to Lewis and Anna |
6 |
| Romanotto Harmony in Springfield; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, Rita graduated from Sangamon State University in |
8 |
| 1981 with a master's degree in political science; she worked |
9 |
| for Sangamon State University in the Illinois Legislative Study |
10 |
| Center from September 1981 to November 1983; she then joined |
11 |
| the Illinois Department of Transportation in 1983 and worked as |
12 |
| a legislative analyst for 21 years; she was of the Catholic |
13 |
| faith; she was also a devoted animal lover, an avid consumer of |
14 |
| mysteries, and she possessed and offered a critical knowledge |
15 |
| of politics; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, The death of Rita Harmony has left a deep void in |
17 |
| the lives and hearts of her family and many friends to whom she |
18 |
| brought happiness and affection; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Rita Ann Harmony is felt by all who |
20 |
| knew and loved her, especially her parents, Lewis and Anna |
21 |
| Harmony; her brothers, Michael (Linda) and David Harmony; her |
22 |
| nieces, Andrea (Jamie) Hardison and Erica Harmony; her aunts, |
23 |
| uncles, and cousins; and her cherished cat, Skitzy; therefore, |
24 |
| be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that even as her death is |
27 |
| mourned, we give thanks for the blessing of Rita Ann Harmony's |
28 |
| life and extend our sincerest condolences to her family and |
29 |
| friends, whose grief we share; and be it further
