| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with great sadness of the death of Trevor Lehmann of |
4 |
| Wheeling on Thursday, January 13, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Lehmann served two terms as a Wheeling |
6 |
| trustee, and was known to be a pro-business politician who |
7 |
| brought new business and development to the village; he |
8 |
| co-owned a Century 21 real estate office in Wheeling and was |
9 |
| elected to the Village Board in 1997; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Lehmann is perhaps best known for establishing |
11 |
| Friendship Park on the village's east side; when village plans |
12 |
| for the park became bogged down in political infighting, Mr. |
13 |
| Lehmann paid an architect to design the park; on May 18, the |
14 |
| village renamed a fountain in the park after him; and
|
15 |
| WHEREAS, After he learned last January that he had |
16 |
| amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a fatal neurological disorder |
17 |
| known as Lou Gehrig's disease, Mr. Lehmann brought that same |
18 |
| energy and persistence that he exhibited as a trustee to |
19 |
| battling ALS; he faced his disease with unflappable calm and |
20 |
| humor, and in July, the Skokie-based Les Turner ALS Foundation |
21 |
| awarded Mr. Lehmann and his wife, Jen Lehmann, its |
22 |
| Humanitarians of the Year Award; and
|
23 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Trevor Lehmann has been deeply felt |
24 |
| by many, especially his wife, Jen; his mother, Marcia; and his |
25 |
| sister, Emilie Reynolds; therefore, be it |
26 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
28 |
| Trevor Lehmann, a man who will be remembered as an effective |
29 |
| business and community leader who really cared about his |
30 |
| community, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his family, |
