| WHEREAS, James Paul Kellstedt, formerly of Peoria and a |
3 |
| former Peoria County state's attorney, passed away on January |
4 |
| 9, 2005; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born June 28, 1918 in Burlington, Iowa to |
6 |
| Carl P. and Florence Nugren Kellstedt; he married Muriel F. |
7 |
| Farrow in 1941 in Peoria; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, He was a World War II Army veteran; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, He attended Bradley and Northwestern universities |
10 |
| and graduated from Northwestern School of Law; a member of the |
11 |
| Illinois and Massachusetts state bar associations, he was a |
12 |
| lawyer, owning his own practice, Kellstedt Law Offices; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, He served as Peoria County state's attorney from |
14 |
| 1952 to 1956; he also was a former assistant attorney general |
15 |
| for the Federal Bankruptcy Court in Peoria, and served as |
16 |
| Richwood Township attorney for more than 10 years; and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church |
18 |
| in Peoria; he was a former member of Mount Hawley Country Club, |
19 |
| the Creve Coeur Club, and the University Club; and
|
20 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his son, James Jr., |
21 |
| and his sister; and
|
22 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of James Paul Kellstedt is felt by all |
23 |
| who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Muriel; his |
24 |
| daughter, Jenny Kellstedt; and his brother, Lyman (Charmaine); |
25 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
