| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Blanca Flores of Brighton |
4 |
| Park on Thursday, November 25, 2004; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Flores was married for 11 years to her high |
6 |
| school sweetheart, Candelario Flores, and they were both |
7 |
| natives of Mexico; they were the parents of two daughters, |
8 |
| Monica and Elizabeth; tragically, the entire family was killed |
9 |
| in a car accident on Interstate 57; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Flores' Catholic faith was her foundation, |
11 |
| and her family was her priority; she and her husband were never |
12 |
| far apart and did almost everything together, and especially |
13 |
| enjoyed dancing together; and |
14 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Flores had worked for six years with Cook |
15 |
| County's Victim Witness Assistance Program, where she made |
16 |
| travel arrangements for victims' families and other state |
17 |
| witnesses coming to court; she assembled the collages of victim |
18 |
| photographs that crowd every spare inch of wall space in the |
19 |
| agency office; she is remembered by her colleagues as working |
20 |
| with a kind of quiet and inspiring diligence; and
|
21 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Blanca Flores has been deeply felt |
22 |
| by many, especially her sisters, Maria Del Carmen Triana, |
23 |
| Francisca Triana, and Celia Soria; her nieces, Teresa Cardona |
24 |
| and Maria Pina; her extended family; and her colleagues; her |
25 |
| parents, Lina Antunez and Jaime Triana preceded her in death; |
26 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the tragic |
29 |
| death of Blanca Flores and her family, and we extend our |
30 |
| deepest condolences to all who knew and loved them; and be it |
