SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
Makes appropriations for the payment of Merit Recognition Scholarships to undergraduate students under the Merit Recognition Scholarship Program provided for in Section 31 of the Higher Education Student Assistance Act. Effective July 1, 2006.

AN ACT concerning appropriations.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The sum of $5,400,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Illinois Student Assistance Commission for payment of Merit Recognition Scholarships to undergraduate students under the Merit Recognition Scholarship Program provided for in Section 31 of the Higher Education Student Assistance Act.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2006.
