| AN ACT concerning local government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Fire Protection District Act is amended by |
5 |
| adding Section 25 as follows: |

| (70 ILCS 705/25 new) |

| Sec. 25. Impact fees. A fire protection district may |
8 |
| establish an impact fee on new building developments and |
9 |
| construction within the fire protection district to reduce the |
10 |
| cost to the fire protection district of providing additional |
11 |
| services to the new building developments and construction. |
12 |
| As used in this Section, "impact fee" means any charge or |
13 |
| fee levied or imposed by a fire protection district on a new |
14 |
| building development and construction when the revenue |
15 |
| collected is intended to be used to fund the costs to the fire |
16 |
| protection district of providing additional services.
