    Amends the Fire Protection District Act. Permits fire protection districts to establish an impact fee to be imposed on new building developments and construction to reduce the costs of providing additional services to the new building developments and construction. Defines "impact fee".

    AN ACT concerning local government.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Fire Protection District Act is amended  by 
5
adding Section 25 as follows:

    (70 ILCS 705/25  new)

    Sec. 25. Impact fees. A fire protection district may 
8
establish an impact fee on new building developments and 
9
construction within the fire protection district to reduce the 
10
cost to the fire protection district of providing additional 
11
services to the new building developments and construction.

    As used in this Section, "impact fee" means any charge or 
13
fee levied or imposed by a fire protection district on a new 
14
building development and construction when the revenue 
15
collected is intended to be used to fund the costs to the fire 
16
protection district of providing additional services.
