| AN ACT concerning public aid.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
| 5 |
| adding Section 5-5.4d as follows:
|

| (305 ILCS 5/5-5.4d new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 5-5.4d. Date from which reimbursement is required. The |
| 8 |
| Department of Healthcare and Family Services shall reimburse a |
| 9 |
| nursing facility under this Article for care provided by the |
| 10 |
| facility to a recipient of medical assistance under this |
| 11 |
| Article from the date that the recipient is transferred from a |
| 12 |
| hospital to the nursing facility, regardless of whether the |
| 13 |
| nursing facility has received the appropriate forms required |
| 14 |
| under federal law in connection with the transfer by that date.

| 15 |
| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 16 |
| becoming law.
