Amends the Good Samaritan Act. Provides that any person who is certified in first aid or has completed a course of instruction in first aid, who in good faith provides emergency care without fee to any person shall not, as a result of his or her acts or omissions, except willful and wanton misconduct on the part of the person, in providing the care, be liable to a person to whom such care is provided for civil damages. Effective July 1, 2006.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Good Samaritan Act is amended by adding |
5 |
| Section 67 as follows: |

| (745 ILCS 49/67 new) |

| Sec. 67. First aid providers; exemption for emergency care. |
8 |
| Any person who is certified in first aid or has completed a |
9 |
| course of instruction in first aid, who in good faith provides |
10 |
| emergency care without fee to any person shall not, as a result |
11 |
| of his or her acts or omissions, except willful and wanton |
12 |
| misconduct on the part of the person, in providing the care, be |
13 |
| liable to a person to whom such care is provided for civil |
14 |
| damages.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, |
16 |
| 2006.
