| AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 2049

| AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2049, AS AMENDED, |

| immediately below the enacting clause, by inserting the |
4 |
| following:
|

| "Section 3. The Director of Corrections, on behalf of the |
6 |
| State of Illinois, is authorized, prior to a date 3 years after |
7 |
| the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 94th General |
8 |
| Assembly, to lease the real property, buildings, and other |
9 |
| improvements comprising the Hopkins Park Correctional Center |
10 |
| to the Village of Hopkins Park for a term of 99 years for the |
11 |
| sum of $1 per year, subject to the following conditions: |
12 |
| (1) The Village of Hopkins Park may use the leased |
13 |
| property only for lawful purposes. |
14 |
| (2) The Village of Hopkins Park may sublease the |
15 |
| property, without the consent of the State of Illinois, to |
16 |
| any party only for lawful purposes. |
17 |
| (3) The Village of Hopkins Park must hold the State of |
18 |
| Illinois harmless, for the duration of the lease, from any |
19 |
| liability and any and all claims of any kind relating to |
20 |
| the leased property. |
21 |
| (4) If any provision of this Section is violated by the |
22 |
| Village of Hopkins Park or a sublessee, the leased property |
23 |
| shall revert back to the State of Illinois without further |
24 |
| action by the State of Illinois."; and |
