Amends the School Code. Provides that the State Board of Education's teacher supply and demand report shall be made every 3 years (instead of annually on or before January 1). Provides that the report must contain the supply and demand (instead of relative supply and demand) for school personnel. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning education.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section |
5 |
| 2-3.11c as follows:
|

| (105 ILCS 5/2-3.11c)
|

| Sec. 2-3.11c. Teacher supply and demand report. To report |
8 |
| every 3 years
annually, on or
before
January 1,
on the relative |
9 |
| supply and demand for
education staff of the public schools
to |
10 |
| the Governor, to the General Assembly, and to institutions
of |
11 |
| higher education that prepare teachers, administrators, school |
12 |
| service
personnel, other certificated individuals, and other |
13 |
| professionals employed by
school districts or joint |
14 |
| agreements. The report shall contain the following
|
15 |
| information:
|
16 |
| (1) the relative supply and demand for teachers, |
17 |
| administrators, and
other certificated and |
18 |
| non-certificated personnel by field, content area, and
|
19 |
| levels;
|
20 |
| (2) State and regional analyses of fields, content |
21 |
| areas, and levels with
an
over-supply or under-supply of |
22 |
| educators; and
|
23 |
| (3) projections of likely high demand
and low demand |
24 |
| for educators, in a manner sufficient to advise the public,
|
25 |
| individuals, and institutions regarding career |
26 |
| opportunities in education.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
