Amends the School Code. Provides that in the State Board of Education's latch key report, the Board shall report the total number of pupils participating in before and after school programs (instead of the number participating by school district). Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning education.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section |
5 |
| 2-3.11b as follows:
|

| (105 ILCS 5/2-3.11b) (from Ch. 122, par. 2-3.11b)

| Sec. 2-3.11b. Latch key reports. To report to the General |
8 |
| Assembly and
Governor annually on or before January 14, the |
9 |
| following information for
the preceding year ending on June 30: |

| the general nature and manner of
operation of before and after |
11 |
| school programs conducted for pupils by the
public schools in |
12 |
| the several school districts of the State; a brief
description |
13 |
| of the types of programs offered and the most common age and
|
14 |
| grade range of pupil benefited thereby; the source and |
15 |
| sufficiency of the
funding available to and used by school |
16 |
| districts to conduct and operate
such programs; the number of |
17 |
| pupils participating , by school district, in
before and after |
18 |
| school programs offered by each such district ; and the
number |
19 |
| of certified employees, the number of uncertified employees and |
20 |
| the
number of independent contractors used by districts
each |
21 |
| such district to conduct
and operate its before and after |
22 |
| school programs.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
