Amends the Department of Revenue Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Requires the Department of Revenue to notify an individual if the Department discovers or reasonably suspects that another person has used that individual's social security number. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning State government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Department of Revenue Law of the
Civil |

| Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section |
6 |
| 2505-680 as follows: |

| (20 ILCS 2505/2505-680 new) |

| Sec. 2505-680. Notice of identity theft. The Department |
9 |
| must notify an individual if the Department discovers or |
10 |
| reasonably suspects that another person has used that |
11 |
| individual's social security number.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
13 |
| becoming law.
