AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1734

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1734 on page 1,
3 lines 4 and 5, by replacing "Section 27-24.4" with "Sections
4 27-24.4 and 27-24.5"; and
 
5 on page 2, by replacing lines 12 through 16 with the following:
6 "55, who has completed the practice driving instruction part.
7 In no case, however, shall the amount of reimbursement made on
8 account of any student exceed the per pupil cost to the
9 district of the classroom instruction part and the practice
10 driving instruction part combined. The school district which
11 is"; and
 
12 on page 2, immediately below line 31, by inserting the
13 following:
 
14     "(105 ILCS 5/27-24.5)  (from Ch. 122, par. 27-24.5)
15     Sec. 27-24.5. Submission of claims. The Claims for
16 reimbursement under this Act shall be submitted in duplicate by
17 each district to the State Board prior to October 1 of each
18 year on such forms and in such manner as shall be prescribed by
19 the State Board. Claims from the 1997-1998 school year that are
20 received after September 1, 1998 but before October 1, 1998,
21 and only these claims, shall be paid in the same manner as if
22 they were received before September 1, 1998. In addition to the
23 claim form, the district shall report on forms prescribed by

1 the State Board, on an ongoing basis, a list of students by
2 name, birth date and sex, with the date the behind-the-wheel
3 instruction or the classroom instruction or both were completed
4 and with the status of the course completion.
5     The State shall not reimburse any district for any student
6 who has repeated any part of the course more than once or who
7 did not meet the age requirements of this Act during the period
8 that the student was instructed in any part of the drivers
9 education course; nor shall the State reimburse any district
10 for any resident of the district over age 55.
