| AN ACT concerning animals, which may be referred to as |

| Marty's Law.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
4 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Animal Control Act is amended by changing |
6 |
| Section 2.19a as follows:
|

| (510 ILCS 5/2.19a)
|

| Sec. 2.19a. "Serious physical injury" means a physical |
9 |
| injury to a person or an animal that
creates a substantial risk |
10 |
| of death or that causes death, serious or
protracted |
11 |
| disfigurement, protracted impairment of health,
impairment of |
12 |
| the function of any bodily organ, or plastic surgery.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
