| AN ACT concerning aging.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Elder Abuse and Neglect Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| adding Section 14 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (320 ILCS 20/14 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 14. Volunteer corps. Qualified volunteers may be used |
| 8 |
| for the purposes of increasing public awareness and providing |
| 9 |
| companion-type services, as prescribed by rule, to eligible |
| 10 |
| adults. A qualified volunteer must undergo training as |
| 11 |
| prescribed by the Department by rule and must adhere to all |
| 12 |
| confidentiality requirements as required by law.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 14 |
| becoming law.
