Amends the The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Creates the Feed Illinois Fund as a special fund in the State treasury. Provides that, from appropriations from the Fund, the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity must make grants to public or private food banks in Illinois for the purpose of making capital improvements and acquiring other non-food assets.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic |
5 |
| Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |

| amended by adding Section 605-955 as follows: |

| (20 ILCS 605/605-955 new) |

| Sec. 605-955. Feed Illinois Fund; grants. |
9 |
| (a) The Feed Illinois Fund is created as a special fund in |
10 |
| the State treasury. From appropriations to the Department from |
11 |
| the Fund, the Department must make grants to public or private |
12 |
| food banks in Illinois for the purpose of making capital |
13 |
| improvements or acquiring other non-food assets. |
14 |
| (b) Moneys received for the purposes of this Section, |
15 |
| including, without limitation, appropriations, gifts, grants, |
16 |
| and awards from any public or private entity, must be deposited |
17 |
| into the Fund. Any interest earned on moneys in the Fund must |
18 |
| be deposited into the Fund.

| Section 10. The State Finance Act is amended by adding |
20 |
| Section
5.640 as follows:
