    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing Section

27A-1 as follows:

    Sec. 27A-1. Short title and application. This Article may 
8
be cited as
the
the Charter Schools Law.  This Article applies

in all school districts,
including special charter districts

and school districts located in cities
having a population of 
11
more than 500,000.
