    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The School Code is amended  by adding Section 
5
2-3.137 as follows:

    (105 ILCS 5/2-3.137  new)

    Sec. 2-3.137. Improvement of teacher certification 
8
process. The State Board of Education, in collaboration with 
9
regional offices of education, shall develop additional 
10
improvements to and streamlining and refinement of the teacher 
11
certification process.
