| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:

| Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing Section |
| 5 |
| 2-1007 as follows:
|

| Sec. 2-1007. Administering oaths. The
The chairman of the |

| board may
administer an oath to any person concerning any |
| 9 |
| matters submitted to the
board, or connected with its powers |
| 10 |
| and duties, and any member of the board
may administer the oath |
| 11 |
| required by law to any claimant presenting a claim
against the |
| 12 |
| county to be passed by the board. A member so administering an
|
| 13 |
| oath to a claimant may not charge a fee therefor. |
