| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
3 |
| State of Illinois wish to honor Dr. Zakiah Ali on the occasion |
4 |
| of her retirement after 25 years of providing medical care to |
5 |
| the Quincy community; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, She graduated from a Christian medical college in |
7 |
| India and came to the United States in 1967; she did her |
8 |
| residency in St. Louis, came to Quincy in 1978, and worked for |
9 |
| five years at Blessing Hospital as a pathologist; she then |
10 |
| began her family practice career in LaGrange, Missouri at the |
11 |
| LaGrange Clinic; after three years she returned to Quincy and |
12 |
| took over Dr. Givi Gabliani's medical practice in 1985; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, She was nominated for Illinois Family Physician of |
14 |
| the Year in the 1990s and was instrumental in starting The |
15 |
| Islamic Center of Quincy in 2002; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Ali lives with her husband, Mohamed; her |
17 |
| daughter, Saadia Aschemann, lives in Quincy with her husband, |
18 |
| Dave, and their two children, Noah and Davis; her son, Sayeed, |
19 |
| and his wife, Shelly, live in Geneva; Dr. Ali is an active |
20 |
| member of the Quincy Rotary Club; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
22 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
23 |
| we congratulate Dr. Zakiah Ali on the occasion of her |
24 |
| retirement after 25 years with the Quincy medical community; |
25 |
| and be it further
|

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
27 |
| presented to Dr. Ali as an expression of our esteem.
