| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 |
| Representatives are pleased to honor the accomplishments of |
4 |
| young people in this State; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, The Troy Middle School girls cross country team |
6 |
| won the IESA State Championship on October 14, 2006 in Normal, |
7 |
| Illinois; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, The girls braved a windswept 2-mile course in |
9 |
| 55-degree temperatures on their way to victory; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, The team fielded a group of 7 against 180 of the |
11 |
| best runners in the State; through injuries, cold, and |
12 |
| exhaustion the team never backed down; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, Four members of the team earned All-State titles |
14 |
| by finishing in the top 25; most of the seven girls posted |
15 |
| season-best times in the race; and
|
16 |
| WHEREAS, The coaches for the Troy Middle School cross |
17 |
| country team are John Davis, Jennifer Fiorella, Mark Clarke, |
18 |
| and Stephanie Dahlin; the members of the team are Hailey |
19 |
| Salazar, Caleigh Beverly, Maddie Simon, Megan Kelly, Kinsey |
20 |
| Minor, Kiley Saunders, Laura Simon, Amber Koran, Joy Treasure, |
21 |
| and Ann Koncel; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
23 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
24 |
| we congratulate the Troy Middle School girls cross country team |
25 |
| on finishing first in sectionals and winning the IESA State |
26 |
| Championship; and be it further
|
27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
28 |
| presented to the Troy Middle School girls cross country team.
