| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives of |
| 4 |
| citizens of the State of Illinois; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band, from |
| 6 |
| Skokie, Illinois has received an invitation to present a |
| 7 |
| concert at the 2006 "60th Anniversary" Midwest Clinic; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, The Clinic is an international band and orchestra |
| 9 |
| conference with over 15,000 attendees each year; the McCracken |
| 10 |
| Middle School Symphonic Band will be one of only three middle |
| 11 |
| school bands in the nation performing and is the first middle |
| 12 |
| school band invited from the State of Illinois in almost twenty |
| 13 |
| years; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, This invitation is a sign of the McCracken Middle |
| 15 |
| School Symphonic Band's accomplishments and high standards; |
| 16 |
| and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, The McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band is |
| 18 |
| under the direction of Chip De Stefano; for the past ten years, |
| 19 |
| Chip De Stefano has worked with the students, instilling in |
| 20 |
| them a love for music and dedication to the band; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, The McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band has |
| 22 |
| been honored seven times in the last ten years at the Illinois |
| 23 |
| Superstate Concert Band Festival in Champaign; therefore, be it
|
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 25 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 26 |
| we congratulate Chip De Stefano and the members of the |
| 27 |
| McCracken Middle School Symphonic Band on receiving this honor; |
