| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 |
| Representatives were saddened to learn that William Robert |
4 |
| "Bill" Malone of Carterville, Illinois, passed away on August |
5 |
| 10, 2006; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, William Malone was born on Oct. 20, 1940 in Harco, |
7 |
| Illinois, to William Grant and Roberta Maxine (Killman) Malone; |
8 |
| he married Lois Jean Stalorites on Sept. 8, 1962; they renewed |
9 |
| their vows in Bora Bora in 1998; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, He was CEO of Malone's Early Learning Centers in |
11 |
| Carterville; he was a member of the First Baptist Church in |
12 |
| Carterville, which he represented on three mission trips to |
13 |
| Kazakhstan; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, As an advocate for children and families, he |
15 |
| served as district coordinator for Action for Children and as a |
16 |
| state delegate to Illinois Association for the Education of |
17 |
| Young Children; he was a member of Voices for Illinois |
18 |
| Children, Southern Illinois Association for the Education of |
19 |
| Young Children, Southern Illinois Early Childhood Action Team, |
20 |
| and Partners in Professionalism; he served on the Meth and |
21 |
| Suicide Coalitions;
and
|
22 |
| WHEREAS, William Malone attended Southern Illinois |
23 |
| University; he received a Master Professional Award from |
24 |
| Childcare Resource and Referral for the last 5 years; in 2005, |
25 |
| he was presented the Heart of the Affiliate Award for his |
26 |
| dedication to children from the Southern Illinois Association |
27 |
| for the Education of Young Children; he was presented the |
28 |
| Sharing and Caring Award from the Illinois Department of Human |
29 |
| Services and the Department of
Children and Family Services in |
30 |
| 2005; and
|

| WHEREAS, William Robert "Bill" Malone is survived by his |

| wife, Lois Jean Malone; his daughters and sons-in-law, Belinda |
3 |
| Jo and Jeff "Bear" Dupuy and Donna Jo and Lee Eklund; son and |
4 |
| daughter-in-law, William Eugene and April Malone; his |
5 |
| grandchildren, Sara Bree Bloodworth, Steven Joseph Elliott, |
6 |
| Dillon Scott Eklund, Jonathon Bradley Dupuy, Jacob Eklund, |
7 |
| Brennan Scott, Alexandra Grace, and Miranda Kay Malone; his |
8 |
| great-grandson, Koby Braxton Childers; his brother, Jerry |
9 |
| Malone; his nephew, James Joseph Biederman; his nieces and |
10 |
| their families, Debra and Sid Horn and their children, Tim and |
11 |
| Ryan, Lisa Malone and her son, Gavin; his beloved friend, |
12 |
| Sheila Jolly; his beloved cats, Rebel and Midnight; his loyal |
13 |
| friends; and all of the extended family of the children he has |
14 |
| cared for over the last 30 years who came to call him their |
15 |
| own; and |
16 |
| WHEREAS,
William Malone was preceded in death by his |
17 |
| parents, William Grant and Roberta Maxine Malone; his mother |
18 |
| and father-in-law, Joseph Paul and Sara Ellen Stalorites; and |
19 |
| his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Dick Biederman; |
20 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
22 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
23 |
| we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of |
24 |
| William Malone; and be it further
|
25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
26 |
| presented to the family of William Malone.
