| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 |
| Representatives wish to express their sincere condolences to |
4 |
| the family and friends of Evelyn Orietha Martin, who recently |
5 |
| passed away; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Evelyn Martin was born on July 8, 1958 in Chicago, |
7 |
| Illinois; her family joined the New Friendship Missionary |
8 |
| Baptist Church, where she was baptized at the age of 11; |
9 |
| together with her sisters they formed the group The Martin |
10 |
| Sisters, and ministered in music both in the suburbs and the |
11 |
| city of Chicago; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, In 1981 she married Vincent Pitts and together |
13 |
| they had a son, Matthew; Evelyn worked all her life, from |
14 |
| working as teller, Personal Banker, and the Manager of Personal |
15 |
| Banking at the First National Bank of Blue Island; she later |
16 |
| advanced to Certified Senior Mortgage Loan Officer at Conseco |
17 |
| Finance, America's Money Line, Centex Home Equity, and as a |
18 |
| consultant for Blaine Bradford Ltd.; and
|
19 |
| WHEREAS, Evelyn was the head of finance for the Martin and |
20 |
| Turk Crittiden family reunions; she specialized in birthdays, |
21 |
| banquets, and coordinating weddings; and
|
22 |
| WHEREAS, Evelyn was joined with the Jackson Tabernacle |
23 |
| Church of God in Christ, under the pastorate of her |
24 |
| father-in-law, Superintendent Harold L. Pitts, and the |
25 |
| Christian Life Center, under the pastorate of Senior Pastor |
26 |
| Jerry McQuary ; and
|
27 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Evelyn Martin will be deeply felt |
28 |
| by those she leaves behind, including: her husband, Vincent; |
29 |
| her son, Matthew; her parents, Jimmie and Elizabeth Martin; her |
30 |
| brother, Donald Martin; her sisters, Beverly Anderson and her |
