| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to recognize the celebration of |
4 |
| the fiftieth anniversary of Lake Villa Rescue; and |
5 |
| WHEREAS, The Lake Villa Rescue Squad was founded by the |
6 |
| Lake Villa Community Men's Club, and went into operation on May |
7 |
| 30, 1956; they began with a used panel truck purchased from the |
8 |
| Antioch Rescue Squad outfitted to meet their needs; and |
9 |
| WHEREAS, The Lake Villa Rescue Squad initially served a |
10 |
| township population of 3,048, they now serve more than 20,000; |
11 |
| in 2000, they responded to almost 1,600 calls, up from 80 |
12 |
| during their first year of operation in 1956; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, Monetary contributions to the Lake Villa Rescue |
14 |
| Squad have provided the necessary funds to buy and replace |
15 |
| needed equipment throughout the years; many fund rasing drives |
16 |
| were held on behalf of the Rescue Squad by one of their chief |
17 |
| supporters, The Lion's Club; fundraisers over the years |
18 |
| included brick sales, rummage sales, dances, dinners, and |
19 |
| fashion shows; and |
20 |
| WHEREAS, The Rescue Squad still owns the original Lake |
21 |
| Avenue Building, but now operates out of a large 7-bay facility |
22 |
| owned by the Lake Villa Fire Protection District; and |
23 |
| WHEREAS, Lake Villa Rescue will be honored with a dinner |
24 |
| and reception being held in Lake Villa at the historic Lehmann |
25 |
| Mansion on Saturday, November 18, 2006; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
27 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
28 |
| that we congratulate Lake Villa Rescue on the occasion of the |
29 |
| fiftieth anniversary of its founding; and be it further
