| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
| 3 |
| State of Illinois are pleased to recognize Ehinger Bros. |
| 4 |
| Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8141 on the occasion of its 60th |
| 5 |
| anniversary; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, The post was chartered on August 25, 1946, under |
| 7 |
| charter #1496; approximately 36 veterans signed the charter to |
| 8 |
| form the new VFW Post; the first commander was Clem Ehinger, |
| 9 |
| and the Post was named for his two sons, Donald and Clem, who |
| 10 |
| died serving their country in World War II; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, The first few meetings of the organization were |
| 12 |
| held in St. Victoria's Church basement; the group's current |
| 13 |
| building is located at 664 Hirsch Street in Calumet City and |
| 14 |
| was purchased within a year of the formation of the Post; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, In February of 1947, the ladies formed an |
| 16 |
| auxiliary, which will be 60 years old in 2007; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Throughout the years, members have been active in |
| 18 |
| the community and many have served on the District, Department, |
| 19 |
| and National level; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Members of Ehinger Bros. VFW Post 8141 will |
| 21 |
| celebrate its 60th anniversary on Saturday, August 19, 2006; |
| 22 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 24 |
| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 25 |
| we recognize Ehinger Bros. VFW Post 8141 on the occasion of its |
| 26 |
| 60th anniversary; and be it further
|
| 27 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 28 |
| presented to the Post as an expression of our esteem.
