| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the |
3 |
| State of Illinois learned with sadness of the death in Iraq of |
4 |
| U.S. Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Gary T. Rovinski of Roseville |
5 |
| on Monday, June 5, 2006; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Petty Officer Rovinski was a member of the U.S. |
7 |
| Navy Seabees; he served as an equipment operator assigned to |
8 |
| Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 25 based at Fort McCoy, |
9 |
| Wisconsin; he had been in Iraq since March; and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, This was his second time serving in the military; |
11 |
| he was in the U.S. Army during the first Gulf War as an eye |
12 |
| specialist; he spent eight years in the U.S. Army and served as |
13 |
| the non-commissioned officer in charge of the optometry section |
14 |
| at Fort Lewis, Washington; he was an expert with the pistol and |
15 |
| rifle and earned many medals from both the U.S. Army and Navy; |
16 |
| and
|
17 |
| WHEREAS, He was from Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, and earned |
18 |
| a bachelor's degree from the College of Misericordia, where he |
19 |
| majored in studio art and specialized in art therapy; he earned |
20 |
| a master's degree at Miami University in Ohio; and
|
21 |
| WHEREAS, Gary is remembered by his friends and family as a |
22 |
| man who loved the Lord, his family, his country, and his fellow |
23 |
| man; and
|
24 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Gary T. Rovinski has been deeply |
25 |
| felt by many, especially his wife, Jenifer Rovinski, and his |
26 |
| two children; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |

| we mourn the passing of Petty Officer 1st Class Gary T. |
