| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Donald F. Hogan has been named Man of the Year by |
3 |
| the Leo High School Alumni Association; and
|
4 |
| WHEREAS, Don was born and raised in St. Sabina Parish; |
5 |
| after graduating from Leo in 1945, he proudly served his |
6 |
| country in 1945 and 1946 in the U.S. Navy, serving on the |
7 |
| U.S.S. Wisconsin for a year; upon his return stateside, he |
8 |
| attended St. Bede Junior College and Loyola University; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Don's career has been in the insurance industry |
10 |
| for 53 years, primarily with Bankers Life and Casualty as an |
11 |
| agent and sales manager; he earned his certificates as a |
12 |
| certified life underwriter and charter financial consultant; |
13 |
| and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, This dedicated alumnus has been active in the Leo |
15 |
| Alumni Association since 1955; serving as Alumni President in |
16 |
| 1961-62, Don was instrumental in establishing the "Man of the |
17 |
| Year Award"; currently, he is a member of the Alumni Board of |
18 |
| Directors; his efforts and support for Leo were acknowledged in |
19 |
| 1998 when he was inducted into the Leo High School Hall of |
20 |
| Fame; and
|
21 |
| WHEREAS, Don married the love of his life, Rita, and they |
22 |
| had four wonderful children, Jeanne, Colette, Patricia, and |
23 |
| Thomas; his children have blessed him with 15 grandchildren, |
24 |
| all living in the Chicagoland area; Don lost his best friend |
25 |
| and wife in 2002; he keeps himself busy now with golf, family, |
26 |
| and the Cubs; and
|
27 |
| WHEREAS, Don is a man of dignity, grace, and integrity; he |
28 |
| is a longtime, loyal supporter of Leo High School and the |
29 |
| Alumni Association and is truly deserving of the honor of being |
30 |
| named Man of the Year; therefore, be it
